How we learn

We use a mixture of child and adult initiated activities.

These make up the majority of the learning in EY, which manifest themselves as play.

As children play they unconsciously ask and answer questions as they emerge, pursuing trains of thought, experimenting with variables, theorizing, making connections between one thing and another.

Learning through play involves letting the child dictate the activities and adult building on and supporting the child towards their next steps.

How we assess in Early Years

We use ongoing assessment throughout the day through observations and take pictures of these assessments and will share   with parents through Class Dojo starting May 2024.

We use SIS Building Blocks to help direct us to where each child’s next steps are and help support them in achieving them.

      Tests taken end of Semester

A final assessment is completed at the end of KG2.
